George McGregor, President

Mr. McGregor has been at the helm of his own health care administration organization for nearly 20 years, first as a partner in McGregor-Van de Moere and now as founder and President of McGregor & Associates. In addition to running the firm, he acts as General Manager of the California Schools VEBA trust (a labor-management trust with over 80,000 members) and as administrator SDCS-SDEA Joint Retiree Medical Benefits Trust.

George is very active as an advocate for improved quality in the health care system and is frequently called upon for speaking engagements. His speaking engagements have included two sessions of the World Health Care Congress in Washington, D.C. and countless engagements for organizations such as the International Federation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) and the California Public Employer-Employee Health Care Coalition (CPEEHCC).

George holds a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He also holds the professional distinction of Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Annemieke Tomey, Administrative and Financial Services

Ms. Tomey has been with the McGregor organization for over 13 years, previously working as an auditor at Coopers & Lybrand and as senior auditor at Bruno Mack & Barclay.

At McGregor & Associates, Annemieke manages corporate and trust fund accounting for clients with approximately $400 million in annual receipts and disbursements. She oversees two key areas: client administration (such as customer service, billing and reconciliation, and compliance) and financial management (such as financial tracking, cash management, compliance, reporting, and disbursements) billing, tax/payroll administration, control systems, compliance, 401 (k), and Section 125 plan administration). She is also manages the organization’s eligibility verification programs.

Annemieke is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of San Diego State University’s Business Administration program and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Nancy White, Member Advocacy and Program Implementation

Ms. White is a skilled health care executive with over 30 years experience in the health care industry. In addition to her clinical experience, Nancy has served as the top executive of two regional health plans, as a Vice President for Client Services of a software development company, and as President of her own corporation providing project development and management services to health care organizations.

At McGregor & Associates, she oversees the California Schools VEBA Advocacy Programs. Her office offers initiatives to give members the resources, education, and support to empower them to make informed decision about their health care and lifestyle choices, as well as assist members in obtaining appropriate health care information and services at the right time, place, and price.

Nancy holds a Bachelor Degree in Health Science from the University of Utah and a Masters of Public Health in Health Services Administration from San Diego State University. She is a Registered Nurse through San Diego City College and has been an instructor at Grossmont College.

Robert Whiting, Relationship Management and Sales

Boards: Arizona Association of Health Underwriters (Past President), Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Interfaith Shelter Network

Mr. Whiting has over 30 years experience in sales, marketing, training, strategic planning, quality improvement initiatives, advertising, direct sales and sales management. He has held senior sales and marketing positions at corporations such as Xerox, CIGNA, and New York Life. He is a former Captain of the United States Army.

At McGregor & Associates, Bob acts as a true customer advocate for the VEBA trust, providing a valuable conduit between the carriers, financial systems, and district leadership. He also actively recruits new member districts that can benefit from VEBA’s purchasing power and industry expertise.

Bob has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Tarleton State University, a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas State University and is a graduate of the Phil Crosby Quality College. Additionally, he holds designations of Managed Healthcare Professional and Health Insurance Associate from the Health Insurance Association of America.

Laura Harris - Marketing and Communications

Ms. Harris joined the firm after working as a communications consultant with Towers Perrin (now known as Towers Watson), where she focused on developing and executing large-scale organizational and change and communication campaigns. Her work has been awarded a Gold Quill by the International Association of Business Communicators. She oversees McGregor & Associates’ Marketing and Communications departments, ensuring effective and accurate communications between the firm and its current and potential clients.

Laura graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, with a B.S. in Economics with a concentration in Marketing and Communications.

Carleton Woodring – Sales

Mr. Woodring brings over 20 years of sales experience to McGregor & Associates, specializing in business development, recruitment, and training of outside sales professionals.

Prior to joining the firm, he spent over 15 years with with the Tom James Co. While there, his awards included Presidents Club and Presidents Cabinet, Leadership and Team awards, and the Fast Track Award for Top Rookies. He was regional manager for the San Diego area from 2003-2010, following stints overseeing the Buffalo and Rochester, New York offices. Before his tenure with Tom James, Carleton worked as a Sales Executive at Whiteco Metrocom, where he was voted Salesman of the Year for three consecutive years.

Carleton is an alumnus of Moravian Academy in Bethlehem, PA and holds a Bachelor Degree from Hobart and William Smith Colleges.
